On February 27, 1997, 25 years ago, Christine Lieber-Koch and Michael Koch signed the articles of association of Michael Koch GmbH in front of the notary. For the two managing partners, this is the founding date of the company. This was preceded by the development of safe braking resistors based on PTC and wire basis. With the delivery of the first samples to potential customers, it was time to put the company on a solid legal footing This was done from the three-room apartment in Bruchsal. The factory in nearby Ubstadt-Weiher was to be built over the summer and moved into when series production of the innovative products started in late summer of the same year.

The company has established itself well over the years and today supplies many well-known drive technology manufacturers and machine builders all over the world. In addition to safe braking resistors, Koch has also been offering active energy management devices and systems for over ten years, which optimize the energy balance of electric drives. For 20 years now, quality, reliability and sustainability have been core elements of the corporate DNA for Koch, having been certified according to the ISO 9001 quality standard and the EMAS environmental audit scheme. A wide range of awards proves the success. With around 60 employees and a competent international partner network, the course has been set for further growth.
