Chairlift

Chairlift
Controlled braking in case of power failure, temporary storage of braking energy during normal operation.
Situation

No functioning short-term emergency power supply to stop the conveyors slowly without the drive system going into failure.

Problem

In the event of a power failure, the frequency converter network goes into error message mode so that the motors are immediately torqueless and an abrupt stop occurs.

Goal

Controlled braking in case of power failure, temporary storage of braking energy during normal operation. The main goal is to achieve a controlled stop of the conveyors in case of a power failure during operation. In addition, the braking energy generated when the gondolas return to the lift station is to be temporarily stored and made available again once they leave the station.

Solution

1 PxtRX and 5 DLCM (Double Layer Capacitor Module).

Advantages

Controlled stops on power failure

The gondolas brake in a controlled manner in case of power failure. There is no abrupt stop. Once the power is on again, the system can be restarted without problems.

Increasing energy efficiency

Energy savings of up to 3.6 kW per empty gondola per day. At higher peak loads (passengers also travel downwards), significantly more energy can be saved.

Recovering brake energy

The braking energy generated during braking, when the gondolas return to the lift station, is temporarily stored and made available again when they leave the station.
